Hello! I’m Giselle Au-Nhien Nguyen, a Vietnamese-Australian writer born and raised in Sydney, and based in Melbourne since 2012.
I write regular columns for Daily Life and Scum, and have had my writing published by frankie, Rookie, BuzzFeed, SBS, Kill Your Darlings, i-D and The Lifted Brow. I was also included in the 2016 feminist anthology Doing It: Women Tell the Truth About Great Sex.
I have spoken at festivals and events including National Young Writers’ Festival, Melbourne Writers Festival, Women of Letters, Digital Writers’ Festival, Feminist Writers Festival, LISTEN and Cherchez La Femme, as well as appearing on ABC2’s Hack Live and various radio programs.
I am also an experienced copywriter, social media manager and digital content producer, having worked for organisations including Nova Entertainment, Monash University, CARE Australia, MYER, Australian Radio Network and Melbourne Writers Festival.
I volunteer at Sticky Institute and self-publish zines. My hobbies and interests include jangle pop bands, smiling at animals, comic books, getting lost on my bike, vegan cooking and naps.
If you’d like to work together, or if you have a cool dog pic to show me, get in touch.
